I highly recommend all customers to read through this page before placing an order. By proceeding with your order, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the policies stated here. Here For Cakes will not be held responsible for any issues arising from failure to review this information.
ORDERS AND BOOKING
Is my order confirmed?
Your order is only confirmed after you have made a deposit/payment. I work on a first payment first-served basis. Once payment has been received, your order will be confirmed and an e-receipt can be requested.
How far ahead should I order?
The earlier the better! A minimum of 1 week’s notice. You may book with me up to 6 months in advance.
Please note:
Full payment is required for all orders except weddings and bridal shower.
For weddings and bridal shower, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining payment is due 60 days before your event.
Can I modify or cancel my order?
I understand that plans can change. However, as each cake is made to order, I am unable to accept modifications or cancellations within 7 days of your collection date, and no refunds will be issued during this period. If you need to cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it, you will receive a full refund. For other cancellations, your payment can be converted into store credit, valid for 3 months from the cancellation date. Please note that expired store credits cannot be extended or refunded.
Do you have vegan or gluten-free cakes?
Currently, vegan and gluten-free cakes are not available.
Can I have a different flavor for each tier of my cake?
Yes — no additional cost.
CAKE TASTINGS
Do you offer tasting boxes?
Yes. Mini cakes actually require more time and effort to produce, so tastings are only available quarterly or whenever I can accommodate (announcements will be posted on Instagram). You may also keep an eye on my Instagram Stories — I do pop-ups once in a while.
For wedding couples, please reach out directly.
CAKE CARE
All cakes will come with a cake care card.
How should I store my cake before serving?
I recommend placing your cake in the refrigerator as soon as possible after pickup. Keep it in the original cake box — this helps reduce condensation and protects it from picking up any fridge odors (especially from items like onions or garlic).
Before serving, bring your cake to room temperature for the best taste and texture:
On cooler days: remove it from the fridge about 2 hours before serving
On warmer days: 30–60 minutes is usually enough
Your cake is best enjoyed at room temperature (around 68–75°F). Please avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause the cake to soften or lose its shape.
How do I travel with my cake?
Cake pickup should ideally be your last errand to ensure it stays in perfect condition. Please keep your cake level at all times - the car floor is the safest spot, not the car seat. Avoid sharp turns and drive carefully as NYC roads can be quite bumpy. If you can, have someone with you to keep an eye on your cake while you drive.
How long will my cake last?
I recommend consuming all cake on your event day. However, you may wrap leftovers in plastic wrap and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
If you need a cake on a date when I am unavailable, you may consider collecting it 1-2 days prior as my cakes will stay fresh and moist for up to 3 days in the fridge.
How long can the cake stay out during an event?
If the cake is being displayed, it should be able to last in an AC room for up to 4 hours. Please note that surrounding heat and light may cause the cake to soften.
Here For Cakes does not:
- replicate other bakers’ design
- work with fresh flowers
